What is the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa
The Skilled Nominated 190 Visa is a points-tested permanent visa for skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian State or Territory government.
Procedure to apply for Tasmanian State Nomination Subclass 190
The process to apply the 190 nomination for Tasmania is to lodge an EOI with Department of Home Affairs by meeting DOHA requirements and then Register with Migration Tasmania Gateway. Registrations are valid for 6 months and there is no fee to register your interest.
If the Migration Tasmania gateway invites you to apply for nomination, you lodge a nomination application. Once approved you will be able to apply for Subclass 190 Visa with the Department of Home Affairs in Skillselect.
Pathways to apply for Tasmanian State Nomination 190
1. Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway
To be considered for this pathway you must meet all the criteria below and may also need to possess one or more priority attributes.
- Your employment must be in an occupation listed on the Tasmanian Onshore Skilled Employment Occupation List (TOSOL)
- Working in Tasmania for 6 months at least 20 hours per week immediately prior to your application.
- Employment needs to be to be closely related to your nominated occupation
- Genuine, ongoing need for your position within the business (including a minimum 12-month contract with at least 3 months remaining at the time you apply for nomination)
- If you are a subcontractor, you may be considered in this pathway if you have a related skills assessment and at least 12 months business activity in Tasmania.
- You and your dependants must currently be living in Tasmania and intend to continue living in Tasmania.

2. Tasmania Skilled Graduate Pathway
To be considered for this pathway you must meet all the criteria below and You may also need to possess one or more of the priority attributes listed for this pathway
- Your study must be (Diploma) or higher, or at least Certificate III related to an ANZSCO Major Group 3 or Group 4 occupation, and be listed on CRICOS with a duration of at least 92 weeks.
- Course must have been completed full-time and on-site in Tasmanian CRICOS registered Tertiary Institute.
- You must have lived in the state for at least two calendar years from the commencement of your course and for the duration of your studies.
- You must currently be living in Tasmania and intend to continue living in Tasmania.

3. Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway
To be considered for this pathway you must meet all the criteria below and You may also need to possess one or more of the priority attributes listed for this pathway.
- You must have been living in Tasmania for at least 3 years (with no more than 50 percent of your total Australian residence period spent in another Australian state or territory), and one of:
- Currently be employed in Tasmania in a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Levels 1-3, including a cumulative 12 out of the last 24 months, (a minimum 20 hours per week on average).
- Currently be employed in Tasmania, including a cumulative 18 months in the last 3 years, in a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level 4 or 5 (a minimum 20 hours per week on average).
- Have operated a business for at least the last 2 years with taxable earnings equivalent to the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (currently $53 900).
