This visa will have skilled workers live and work in Australia permanently if they are nominated by an employer.With this Visa you can stay permanently in Australia.

The Employer Nomination Scheme visa is a visa that allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia permanently. The worker must be nominated by their employer in order to be eligible for this visa. This visa gives the holder the ability to live and work in Australia indefinitely, as well as travel in and out of the country freely. The holder of this visa can also apply for citizenship if they so choose.

Direct Entry (DE) Stream 186

This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia permanently.

With Direct stream 186 visa, you can

  • live, work and study in Australia indefinitely
  • sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia
  • apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible
  • enrol in Australia’s public health care scheme, Medicare
  • travel to and from Australia for 5 years

You must

  • have an occupation that is on the list of eligible skilled occupations
  • have at least 3 years relevant work experience, unless you are exempt
  • have a positive skills assessment, unless you are exempt

Travel

  • From the date the visa is granted, you can travel to and from Australia for up to 5 years.
  • After that period, you will need a Resident Return (RRV) visa to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.

This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia permanently.

Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream 186

This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by their employer, live and work in Australia permanently.

With temporary residence transition stream 186 visa, you can

  • live, work and study in Australia indefinitely
  • sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia
  • apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible
  • travel to and from Australia for 5 years

You must

  • hold a subclass 457, 482 or related Bridging visa A, B or C
  • usually, have worked for your employer for at least 3 years full time while holding a subclass 457 or TSS visa
  • have been nominated by an Australian employer whose nomination was approved in the 6 months before you apply

Apply for this visa from in or outside Australia. If you are in Australia, you must hold a substantive visa or a related bridging visa A, B or C.

Travel

  • From the date the visa is granted, you can travel to and from Australia for up to 5 years.
  • After that period, you will need a Resident Return (RRV) visa to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.

Labour Agreement (LA) Stream 186

This visa lets skilled workers who are nominated by their employer live and work in Australia permanently. The Labour Agreement stream might be for you if you currently work, or will work, for an employer who is party to a labour agreement.

With Labour Agreement stream 186 visa, you can

  • live, work and study in Australia indefinitely
  • sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia
  • apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible
  • travel to and from Australia for 5 years

You must

  • currently work, or will work, for your nominating employer who is party to a labour agreement.
  • meet the age, skills and English language requirements of the labour agreement
