The subclass 804- Aged Parent Visa onshore is a great option for those who want to bring their aged parents to Australia. This visa allows the holder to live in Australia for up to five years. The holder can also work and study while in Australia. The holder of this visa can also apply for Australian citizenship if they meet the requirements.

With Aged Parent visa 804 you can

  • stay in Australia as a permanent resident
  • sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia
  • if eligible, apply for Australian citizenship
  • You must

  • have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
  • be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
  • not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa
  • How long you can stay

  • This is a permanent visa. It lets you stay in Australia indefinitely.
  • For citizenship purposes, your permanent residence starts on the day we grant the visa.

  • You must be in Australia, but not in immigration clearance, when you apply for this visa.
  • Any family members who apply for the visa with you must also be in Australia, but not in immigration clearance, when you apply.
