Subclass 485 - Graduate Work Stream
The following concession is currently only available to applicants who apply for Graduate Work Stream visa between 1st July 2022 and 30 June 2023.
The department has removed the requirement of occupation to be in the medium- and long-term skilled list for temporary graduate visa 485 after 1st July 2022.
Students who complete a VET course of 2 years duration will be eligible to apply for Subclass 485 Visa under Graduate Work Stream.
This visa lets you live, work and study in Australia temporarily. This visa will be of 2 years duration.
The applicants must meet other requirements such as 2 years study, character, and health requirements.
Subclass 485 - New Replacement Stream
This visa is for current and former Temporary Graduate visa holders who lost time on their original visa due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
You will be eligible to apply if, as the main holder:
You have held a Graduate Work stream or first Post Study Work stream Temporary Graduate visa that was:
- granted before 15 December 2021 and o in effect on or after 1 February 2020
You have lost time on your visa because of Australia’s COVID-19 travel restrictions.
This means:
- If you were in Australia when your original Temporary Graduate visa was granted, you have been outside of Australia while holding this visa between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021.
- If you were outside Australia when your original Temporary Graduate visa was granted, you entered Australia on that visa, and the departed Australia on that visa before 15 December 2021.
You will receive the same grant period as your previous 485 visa.
For this you must replacement visa you must make an application before 1 January 2027.
