Visitor Visa - Subclass 600
With Visitor Visa 600, you can visit Australia for tourism or business purposes.
The subclass 600 visitor visa is a visa that allows people to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes. The visa holder can enter and leave Australia as many times as they want during the validity of the visa.
Basic Eligibility for Visitor Visa (Subclass 600):
- Be a genuine visitor
- Have enough funds to support your stay and leave
Tourist Stream - Subclass 600
This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to see family and friends or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.
With Tourist Stream 600 visa you can
- visit family or friends
- be here as a tourist, for a cruise, or for purposes other than business or medical treatment
- You can study or train for up to 3 months on this visa.
- You can’t work.
You Must
- intend to stay in Australia to visit only
- have enough money for your stay in Australia
How long you can stay
- This is a temporary visa.
- You can stay for the period or dates specified on the visa grant letter. The Department will ultimately decide how long they grant you this visa for.
- This Visa can be granted with with multiple entries and no further stay conditions
- If you get granted this visa with multiple entry, you can leave and return to Australia on the visa while it is valid.
- You may need to show there are exceptional circumstances if you want to stay in Australia:
- as the holder of one or more visitor visas
- and for more than 12 consecutive months
Apply in Australia
- Eligible applicants can apply for this visa in Australia. If you apply in Australia, you must be in Australia when we make a decision on your application.
- You can apply for a new visa if your visa does not have a condition that prevents further stay, such as condition 8503. You might be able to request a waiver of the no further stay condition in some circumstances.
Sponsored Family Stream 600
This visa stream lets people who are sponsored, usually by a family member, come to Australia to visit their family members.
With sponsored family visa 600 you can
- visit family or friends
- be here as a tourist, for a cruise, or for purposes other than business or medical treatment
- You can study or train for up to 3 months on this visa.
- You can’t work.
You Must
- have a sponsor who is an Australian PR or Citizen
- intend to come to Australia as a visitor only
How long you can stay
- This is a temporary visa. It can be granted for up to 12 months.
- The length of your visa on a case by case basis.
- You might not be granted the length of stay you want.
- Generally this visa is granted with only one entry permitted. This means that after you leave Australia you need to apply for another visa before you can return.
Travel
- If you are granted a multiple-entry visa, you can travel outside Australia and return as many times as you want while the visa is valid.
- If you get granted a single-entry visa and you leave Australia, you can’t re-enter on the visa. You must apply for another visa to come back.
Business Visa 600
This visa stream lets you visit Australia for business reasons.
With Business visa you can
- make general business or employment enquiries
- negotiate contracts
- take part in a conference or trade fair. You can’t be paid by the organisers to take part
- investigate, negotiate, enter into or review a business contract
- conduct activities as part of an official government visit
- take part in a conference, trade fair or seminar. You can’t be paid by the organisers to take part
- undertake tourist activities
- Stay Up to 3 months
You Must
- be a genuine visitor travelling to Australia for business visitor activities
- be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your application
How long you can stay with business visa 600
- This is a temporary visa.
- You can stay for the period or dates specified on the visa grant letter.
- You may not be granted the length of stay you want.
- This visa may be granted with a single entry or multiple entry.
- If you are granted a visa with multiple entry, you can leave and return to Australia on the visa while it is valid.
You can't
- work for or provide services to a business or organisation based in Australia
- sell goods or services directly to the public
Apply outside Australia
To be eligible for this visa, you must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your application.
